STARup 2016 – Event Summary

On the 17th of September, 2016, ah! Ventures organized its very first edition of STARup Summit. This startup summit was organized with a view to connect the players of the startup ecosystem together.

In addition to the summit being focused around four key verticals – Fintech, Healthtech, Emerging Tech and Platforms, it also offered various other unique propositions like reverse pitch, sector specific panel discussions, startup showcases and much more. The summit was conceptualized with the view to get the best of the start-up minds together under one roof. The event also witnessed a one of a kind app being launched by ah! Ventures. This app, focuses on creating a cohesive environment for the startup community where in the various players can have quality interaction and benefit from it at the same time.

Axis Bank was the title sponsor for the summit. The verticals were also backed by various sponsors. Citrus Pay was the official sponsor for the Fintech track, SINE IIT Bombay was the sponsor for the Healthtech track, The Prahlad Kakkar School of Branding and Entrepreneurship (PKSBE) was the sponsor for the Emergingtech track and Frogo was the sponsor for the Platforms and Aggregators track.

The Women’s track that was conducted was backed by Krishna and Saurastri Associates.

The event included panel discussion around the four verticals with renowned panelists from across those sectors. The key issues from every sector were discussed in depth with a fruitful discussion between the panellists and the enthralled audience. The topics for the sector specific panel discussions were :

The summit also hosted series of pitches, with a full house between the cheering on the interaction between the investors and the entrepreneurs. STARup truly recognized the potential that women entrepreneurs have to offer in today’s world and hence had, in association with a specified track running, commemorating the women entrepreneurs of today.

In totality the summit was attended by around 700 delegates, 40 exhibitors and 20 sponsors and other industry experts, media personnel and dignitaries.STARup 2016 has been an extremely successful event for ah! Ventures and shall be organized on a biannual basis.
